Ukrainian community in Lithuania
Currently Ukrainians represent the fourth largest ethnic minority in Lithuania.
According to the census of 2012 about 16,000 ethnic Ukrainians live in the Republic of Lithuania, who make 0,65% of Lithuanian population.
Social structure – people with average or below average income, many of them are of retirement age.
There are 10 organized Ukrainian communities in Lithuania - in Vilnius, Visaginas, Jonava, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai. Members of the Ukrainian communities in Lithuania total about 300-320 people. The main areas of activity are cultural and educational spheres.
