Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Mr. Linas Linkevičius visited Ukraine on May 31 – June 1, 2013.
Within the visit Mr. Linas Linkevičius met with First Deputy Prime-Minister of Ukraine Mr. Serhii H. Arbuzov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Mr. Leonid O. Kozhara and Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Mr. Andriy P. Kliuyev.
The special attention during the relevant meetings and negotiations was paid to the development of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian strategic partnership, implementation of the Ukraine’s European integration strategy, the upcoming Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council, as well as other topic issues of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania.
In the frameworks of the visit the 3rd Meeting of the Council of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Lithuania took place. Proceeding upon the results of the meeting Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Mr. Linas Linkevičius and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Mr. Leonid O. Kozhara signed the Joint Statement.
The opening ceremony of the first Visa Application Centre of the Republic of Lithuania was held in Kyiv during the visit. This centre is designed to simplify and shorten the relevant visa procedures for the Ukrainian citizens. The same Visa Application Centres of the Republic of Lithuania will be opened in 14 cities of Ukraine.
