On June 17, 2013 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Valerii Zhovtenko met with Vigilijus Jukna, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on topical issues of Ukrainian-Lithuanian cooperation in all areas of agriculture. It was agreed to develop the regulatory framework of bilateral relations, in particular the Action plan on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania for 2014-2016.

Special attention was paid to expanding Ukrainian-Lithuanian export and import of food products in the context of the free trade area which will be established between Ukraine and the EU after signing the Association Agreement.
