On September 6, 2013 Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mr.Volodymyr Rybak paid the visit to the Republic of Lithuania.

During the visit, he had talks with President of the Republic of Lithuania Ms. Dalia Grybauskaitė and Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Mr.Vydas Gedvilas.

During the negotiations, key attention was paid to current issues of Ukrainian -Lithuanian parliamentary relations , practical aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of European integration in the context of preparations for the Vilnius summit " EU- Eastern Partnership" and the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and individual issues of international and regional policy.

Within the visit, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has also had the negotiations with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Ms.Catherine Ashton and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Mr. Štefan Füle .

Mr. V.Ryubak has laid flowers at the monument to world-famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Vilnius. He had a talk with the representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Lithuania in the framework of this ceremony.
