During the week we have been observing the aggressive actions of the Russian side in the Crimea directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. These clearly provocative actions committed not only with a gross violation of all existing norms of international and bilateral agreements, but also in contrary to common sense, while irresponsibly provoking the conflicts by means of completely false pretenses.
The internal affairs of a sovereign Ukraine do not concern Russia at all and could not be the reason for invasion. The lessons of history and the realities of the XXI century prove the need to exclusively peaceful and civilized approach in international relations. This principle is followed by Ukraine and supported by the international community. In particular, it was demonstrated at the EU Summit on March 6, 2014.
In this difficult time of testing we highly appreciate the friendly support of Lithuania and its leadership who openly condemned the aggressive actions of the Russian side in the Crimea and consistently supported our country within the UN, the EU, and other international organizations.
We are grateful to the friendly people of Lithuania for sincere and courageous assistance being provided to the people of Ukraine.
We are grateful to all Ukrainians in Lithuania for a proactive stance and solidarity with our country and the Ukrainian people in times of dramatic events at the Maidan (the Independence Square), and nowadays while our state is opposed to the real threat of territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In the current situation no one can be indifferent or stay out of events that determine the fate and future of Ukraine and the entire Europe.
The voice of truth and honest civil stand should be heard all over the world.
