On 21 December, the global solidarity campaign #LightUpUkraine was launched all over the world.

Vilnius, like many other Lithuanian cities that have been heroically supporting Ukraine since the first days of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, joined the campaign and simultaneously turned off Christmas lighting, illumination of iconic places and main streets for an hour to share their heartfelt light with the people of Ukraine.

We are immensely grateful to the Vilnius City Municipality, Kaunas and Klaipeda City Municipalities, as well as to all other cities and regions of Lithuania for their unwavering solidarity and constant support of Ukraine.

The #LightUpUkraine solidarity campaign aims to raise $10 million through the Ukrainian national fundraising platform United24, launched by the President of Ukraine, to purchase 1000 generators to power Ukrainian hospitals this winter. These generators can power operating rooms, entire hospital departments and keep individual pieces of medical equipment running.
