On January 13, 2011 Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Sergii Popyk participated in the festive events dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Day of Defenders of Freedom of the Republic of Lithuania.

At the invitation of the Chairman of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania the Charge d'Affaires participated in the Solemn Sitting of the Lithuanian Parliament and the ceremony of hoisting the State Flag at the Independence Square.

The festive events were attended by the highest political leadership of Lithuania, the foreign delegations, heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Vilnius.
