On May 8, 2015 inVilnius was held “Europe Goes East” Annual Conference-discussion on the topic “Eastern Patnership in action: state of survival or vital breakthrough? Prior to Riga’s Eastern Partnership Summit decisions”.
The event was attended by a representative Ukrainian delegation composed, in particular, by Chairman of Ukraine’s delegation to the PACE, MP Volodymyr Ariev, Deputy Chairman of the political union “Batkivschina”, MP Ivan Kyrilenko, Chairman of political union “Svoboda” Oleh Tiahnybok, and President of the International Initiative to Support Ukraine Taras Osaulenko.
The conference was also attended by Ambassador of Ukraine Valerii Zhovtenko.
In the conference participated the officials of MFA of Lithuania, leadership of Lithuanian party “Homeland Union – Christian Democrats”, representatives of the diplomatic corps and public society, as well as politicians, experts of NGOs and think-tanks from Austria, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, and Sweden.
The participants discussed the topical issues of the EU agenda on the eve of Riga Summit, noted the importance of united response to Russia’s aggressive policy, which poses a threat for the entire Europe, and necessity of providing Ukraine with a comprehensive support.
