Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin had the negotiations with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius in the city of Odessa.

 

Minister P.Klimkin informed his Lithuanian counterpart about the situation in the Eastern Ukraine and the steps made by Ukraine in the context of implementing the Minsk Agreements, as well as progress of reforms, including the introduction of anti-corruption package, amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, and decentralization of powers.

 

Minister L.Linkevičius confirmed, that Lithuania is a devoted ally of Ukraine in the process of restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Republic of Lithuania will also continue to provide expert assistance to Ukraine in order to implement systematic reforms.

 

The parties exchanged views on prospects of bilateral cooperation in the framework of implementation of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement and visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.

 

Minister L.Linkevičius reaffirmed the intention of the Republic of Lithuania to assist in implementation of Ukraine's European integration policy.
