On December 8, 2015 on the occasion of celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Armed Forces the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania arranged a festive event for the military servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation at the Eastern Ukraine, and have been receiving rehabilitation and treatment in the Lithuanian medical institutions, as well as have been training at the language courses in the respective Lithuanian institutions.

The event was attended by the Embassy staff, representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Lithuania and the relevant Lithuanian governmental institutions, Lithuanian volunteers, and representatives of the military attaché’s corps, accredited in the Republic of Lithuania.

Сhargé d’affaires ad interim of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania A.Skliar and Defence Attaché of Ukraine to Lithuania Capt. (Navy) D.Donskoi addressed to the participants of the event with the greeting speeches and congratulated Ukrainian officers and military servicemen with the national holiday, as well as expressed appreciation to the Lithuanian side for practical assistance in countering Russia’s aggression.

The event continued with informal communication and joint performance of Ukrainian folk songs.
