On February 19, 2017 in Vilnius in Ukrainian church of Holy Trinity a Mass in the memory of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred who gave their lives during the Revolution of Dignity was held. A photo exhibition of Lithuanian eyewitnesses of the events in Kyiv of February, 2014 was also opened in the church.
After the Mass, the rector of the church Father Joachim Kovalchuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi and representatives of the Lithuanian community, who witnessed the events of Maidan of February, 2014, delivered their speeches.
On the same day in the House-Museum of famous Lithuanian artist and composer M. Čiurlionis was organized a music and poetic event in the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, where, among other, works of Ukrainian and Lithuanian composers were performed and poems of Taras Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka and other Ukrainian poets in Ukrainian and Lithuanian languages were sounded.
The famous artists – poet and singer Dalia Tarailiene who, in particular, performed Requiem “Plyve Kacha” to honour the fallen Heroes of Maidan, author and composer Fr.Deacon Roman Kolyada; a famous Lithuanian poet and interpreter of Taras Shevchenko - Valdas Braziunas and well-known organist and musicologist Jurate Landsbergyte performed for the audience. A short film „Žemės broliai“ directed by Vytautas Landsbergis Jr. was also shown.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi, Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Žygimantas Pavilionis and Chairman of the Vilnius community of Ukrainians Natalia Shertvitene gave speeches to participants of the event.
In the event, which was jointly organized by the Ukrainian community and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania, took part members of Lithuanian parliament, representatives of the Ukrainian community in Lithuania, the Lithuanian public, journalists and representatives of the youth branch of “Sąjūdis”.
On the same day near the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania gathered Lithuanian volunteers who three years ago gave an active assistance to Ukrainians in their struggle for freedom and dignity, representatives of Ukrainian community in Lithuania, diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine.
Those who were present at the ceremony honoured the memory of the fallen Heroes of the Revolution of Dignity by holding a minute of silence and laying candles near the flag of Ukraine in the Trident shape. Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi and the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius addressed with speeches to participants of the event.
