On March 22, 2018 in Vilnius was held International Conference «Lithuanian Development Cooperation Partnerships in Ukraine», which was co-organized by the MFA of the Republic of Lithuania, the Representation of the European Commission in Lithuania and “Central Project Management Agency”.
The conference was attended by the officials of the relevant Lithuanian state institutions, representatives of Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, the leading experts from both EU and NATO member states, as well as representatives of diplomatic corps, accredited in Vilnius, the Lithuanian society and local media.
The conference was also attended by the high-level delegation of the Luhansk Regional State Administration of Ukraine, chaired by the Governor of the Luhansk Region Yurii Harbuz, and representatives from the Governmental Office for European and Euro-Atlantic integration under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Secretariat of the Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
The Governor of the Luhansk Region Yurii Harbuz addressed to the participants of the conference with a brief information of the current security situation in the Luhansk Region in the context of the ongoing Russia’s military aggression, expressed the words of appreciation to the Lithuanian colleagues for providing practical support to Ukraine and for their readiness to continue implementation of development cooperation project in the regions of our country.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi extended the sincere words of gratitude to the Republic of Lithuania for an active and standing support to Ukraine in implementation of the important internal reforms, as well as emphasized on the necessity of strengthening cooperation within Ukraine-Lithuania and Ukraine-EU formats under the concrete development cooperation projects.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius underlined the importance of holding the conference and confirmed the intention of the Lithuanian side to continue practical assistance to Ukraine.
