On August 19, 2019, in Klaipeda, diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania together with Commander of the Lithuanian Navy Rear Admiral Arunas Mockus, with the support of the International Charitable Yevhen Konovalets Fund (Lithuania) and Ukrainian volunteers, opened exhibition of paintings “Returning home” in support of the Ukrainian Navy seamen illegally captured by Russian Federation.
Leadership of the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Lithuania stationed in Klaipeda garrison, activists and representatives of the Ukrainian community of Klaipeda, Lithuanian society, the media took part in the opening of the exhibition.
In their speeches, the Defense Attaché of the Embassy of Ukraine Colonel Oleksandr Koberskyi, and Commander of the Lithuanian Navy Rear Admiral Arunas Mockus highlighted the importance of the event, which demonstrates the support of the captured Ukrainian seamen by the Armed Forces of Lithuania and Lithuanian citizens. It is symbolic that the exhibition was organized precisely in the "sea capital" of Lithuania.
The exhibition will be open for visiting until August 23 by the address: Klaipeda, Vytauto str., 5, Klaipeda garrison officers' club.
