In connection with the horrific catastrophe of the Boeing-737 aircraft of Ukraine International Airlines operating flight PS 752 from Tehran to Kyiv on January 8, 2020,, that claimed lives of 176 passengers and crew members - citizens of Ukraine, Iran, Canada, Sweden, Afghanistan, Germany and the United Kingdom, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy by the Decree No. 1/2020 has declared January 9, 2020 as the Day of National Mourning.

A Book of Condolences has been opened at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania. The State Flag of Ukraine has been lowered to half-mast.
