On December 31, the Ambassador of Ukraine, Petro Beshta, held a meeting with the Minister of Energy of Lithuania, Žygimantas Vaičiūnas.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his participation in the recent visit of the Lithuanian government to Ukraine, led by Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas. This remarkable visit served as a powerful signal of support, emphasizing Lithuania's steadfast commitment to the shared fight against Russian aggression.
Ambassador Beshta also highlighted the efficient and coordinated efforts of the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy team, whose effectiveness and swift implementation of projects significantly contribute to strengthening Ukraine's energy system.
During the meeting, key areas of cooperation were discussed, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of the Energy Community.
Žygimantas Vaičiūnas assured that Lithuania will continue to actively support Ukraine by providing the necessary energy assistance. He announced the signing of new contracts between Lithuanian and Ukrainian companies for the delivery of equipment essential for restoring energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks.
The Minister also outlined Lithuania's plans for 2025, which include continued support for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s damaged energy facilities and contributions to the development of renewable energy sources.
