On March 9, 2021, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi held a meeting with the Commander of the 10th platoon of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union of King Mindaugas, Major Mindaugas Sakalauskas, other members of the union and the senior curator of exhibitions of the International Cooperation Department of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art Skaistis Mikulionis.
Taking into consideration the quarantine restrictions, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania presented official gratitude certificates to 24 members of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union who provided 24/7 protection of the exhibition “Civilizations of Ukraine. From Trypillian Culture and Scythian Gold to Maidan” that took place at the Vilnius Museum of Applied Arts and Design on March 10 – October 25, 2020.
This unique exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, was held under patronage of the Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania. The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania provided assistance in holding the exhibition.
The parties also discussed ways of further cooperation in the humanitarian, cultural, and museum spheres and exchanged ideas on the joint implementation of various important projects to promote historical heritage of Ukrainian and Lithuanian cultures.
