On Monday, August 23, 2021 the Kyiv Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen took place in the capital of Ukraine aimed at creating an international dialogue platform that will help solve humanitarian issues globally. The First Lady of Ukraine Mrs Olena Zelenska was an ideological inspirer of the Summit.
The Summit brought together more than 20 participants – the wives of heads of state, as well as a number of acclaimed international and Ukrainian experts. Among the honoured guests who joined the event offline, there was the First Lady of the Republic of Lithuania Mrs Diana Nausėdienė. In particular, in her speech the First Lady of the Republic of Lithuania while presenting her view for the development of soft power policy shared her own experience and stressed on the importance and timeliness of the issues discussed during the Summit.
Mrs Diana Nausėdienė attended the discussion on the situation in education as an expert and spoke about the experience gained so far by the Republic of Lithuania in the field of distance learning for school children.
The Summit launched an international platform that will be a place for sharing experiences, coordinating efforts and implementing joint projects in the new reality.
As a result of the Summit, an open international Declaration was signed. In particular, it invites all first ladies and gentlemen throughout the globe to cooperate on common questions that we all are facing. The first step towards the further decisive action there was a general statement on the protection and support of women and children in armed conflicts.
