November 19 marks 1,000 days of full-scale russian aggression… 1,000 days of our heroic resistance, unwavering fight, unity, and determination.
Yesterday, on November 18, at Cathedral Square in Vilnius, we gathered to remember 1,000 days of struggle, to support those on the frontlines, those awaiting their return from captivity, and to honor the memory of heroes who gave their lives for our freedom. Among them are the defenders of Azovstal, who have endured 913 days of captivity, standing their ground until the very end, sacrificing themselves to protect us all.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta, speaking at the rally, emphasized: "Putin understands only the language of force. russia cannot be stopped by capitulation or territorial concessions. We need peace through strength, not appeasement." He also noted that Ukraine, together with its partners, is building a position of strength and uniting democracies for victory, as Ukraine stands as the symbol of strategic resilience and the strength of the West.
The U.S. Ambassador to Lithuania Kara C. McDonald, addressed the Ukrainian people with heartfelt support: "Recently, russia once again attacked peaceful civilians, occupied the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and suspended its participation in the grain initiative. Winter is approaching, and the Kremlin is once again targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, abducting Ukrainian children, occupying territories, and killing people with Iranian drones. But peace is only possible through strength. Today, the U.S. administration announced approval for the use of long-range weapons – a move that can halt further aggression. For 1,000 days, the Ukrainian people have been fighting for the freedom of the entire world."
Member of the Seimas of Lithuania Dovilė Šakalienė expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people, stating: "We see the axis of evil – russia, North Korea, Iran. To combat this evil, we must accelerate decision-making, provide long-range weapons, and unite. Today, Ukraine defends Europe and democratic values."
At the rally marking 1000 days of resistance the audience addressed Jonas Ohman, the head of the volunteer organization "Blue/Yellow for Ukraine", which has been supporting Ukraine for 10 years, and Vitalii Bielobrov, a representative of Kherson City Council, who shared stories of his city’s resilience.
Our heartfelt gratitude to a true friend of Ukraine, Arkadijus Vinokuras, for initiating these rallies in support of Ukraine! Many thanks to UYGL for co-organizing the event and for constant collaboration! Thanks to everyone who joined the event!
This 120th Monday rally stands as a testament to the power of solidarity and faith in our victory! Glory to Ukraine!
