On April 22, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta together with the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and the former President of Lithuania (1998-2003) Valdas Adamkus took part in the planting of an oak grove.
3,600 saplings were planted in Šakiai district of Lithuania in memory of all the dead Ukrainians in the war that Russia started on February 24, 2022, against Ukraine.
From the first days of the war, the Republic of Lithuania became a country that fraternally accepted Ukrainians fleeing the horrors of war. During this time, Lithuania provided multilateral assistance and strong support to Ukraine. Today's action was another manifestation of solidarity.
We sincerely thank the leadership of the public organization "Oak of Kindness" for the initiative and organization of the action.
On Earth Day, we are once again reminded that the policy of the Russian Federation is the killing and suffering of millions of people, the destruction of nature, and irreparable damage to the entire planet.
