On 13-14 September 2010 the OSCE Special Expert Meeting on Assessing the OSCE’s Future Contribution to International Energy Security Cooperation took place in Vilnius. OSCE Secretary General, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, representatives of Kazakhstan Presidency in OSCE, official representatives of OSCE member states and its working institutions, representatives of EU, BSEC, NATO, Energy Charter Secretariat, UN Economic Commission for Europe, European Climate Foundation, experts in energy security fields, Lithuanian politicians, heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Lithuania participated in the Conference.
Exchange view on engaging the OSCE to the energy security issues, particularly forecast and prevention potential conflicts in the energy field at the OSCE area took place during the conference. Results of discussions in Vilnius will be summarized in the special report of the OSCE Secretary General to the OSCE Summit scheduled to be held in Astana in December 2010.
Serhii Popyk, Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania, and diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania participated at the OSCE Special Expert Meeting in Vilnius.
