On December 6, 2016 on the occasion of celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Armed Forces the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania arranged a festive event for the military servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation at the Eastern Ukraine, and have been receiving rehabilitation in the Lithuanian medical institutions, as well as have been training at the language courses in the respective Lithuanian institutions.

The event was attended by representatives of diplomatic's  corps, accredited in the Republic of Lithuania, the Minister of Defence of Lithuania, representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Lithuania and the relevant Lithuanian governmental institutions, Ukrainian community, Lithuanian volunteers,.

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi and Defence Attaché of Ukraine to Lithuania Col Oleksandr Koberskyi addressed to the participants of the event with the greeting speeches and congratulated Ukrainian officers and military servicemen with the national holiday, as well as expressed appreciation to the Lithuanian side for great assistance in countering  aggression.

The event continued with informal communication and joint performance of Ukrainian folk songs.
