On May 21, 2019 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi held an official opening of the photo exhibition "Ukraine’s Second World War" in the Vytautas the Great War Museum, Kaunas.
The solemn opening was preceded by the flowers laying ceremony to the memorial plaque to Colonel of the Ukrainian People's Republic Army Yevhen Konovalets, as well as to the monument of the Unknown Soldier and the Liberty Monument, attended by the Ambassador, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania, Director of the Vytautas the Great War Museum Kęstutis Kuršelis, representatives of the Kaunas Ukrainian community and the Kaunas community of the Lithuanian Pensioners Union.
In the ceremony of the opening of the exhibition representatives of the Lithuanian Air Forces HQ, the leadership of the Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, National Defence Volunteer Forces 2nd Territorial Unit, representatives of the Ukrainian community, Lithuanian activists, Kaunas community of the Lithuanian Pensioners Union, employees of the Vytautas the Great War Museum, numerous visitors took part.
During the event, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania held a conversation with the Commander of the Air Forces Colonel Dainius Guzas and the Chief of the Division General S.Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School Colonel Egidijus Karvelis and discussed the current status of the military cooperation between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Lithuania as well as the preparation for the International NCO Instructor Training Course which is planned to be held on June 2019 in Lithuania with participation of 15 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ambassador of Ukraine provided also conversations with the Director of President Valdas Adamkus Library-Museum Arunas Antanaitis and the Director General of the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Science Kauno Klinikos professor Renaldas Jurkevičius, where the Ukrainian militarymen, wounded during the ATO in eastern Ukraine, were treated.
The photo exhibition "Ukrainian Second World" will be available for visitors of the Vytautas the Great War Museum from May 21 to June 4, 2019.
