During a working visit to Klaipeda, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta met with the Mayor of Klaipeda Arvydas Vaitkus.

The main topics of the meeting:

• opportunities to use the city's transport and logistics potential to expand trade ties with Ukraine. Klaipeda State Seaport plays an important role in the country's transportation system. Klaipeda is the most important and largest transport hub in Lithuania, a crossroads of sea and land routes.

• development of partnership relations between Klaipeda and its Ukrainian sister city Odesa. 

• support for temporarily displaced Ukrainian citizens residing in Lithuania, as well as the Ukrainian community in Klaipeda.

• cultural cooperation and support of the Klaipeda branch of the International Ukrainian School.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Petro Beshta expressed his gratitude to the Mayor of Klaipeda Arvydas Vaitkus, and the municipality of the city for their continued support and solidarity with Ukraine in the face of russia's full-scale invasion.
