On January 28, 2021, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania Arvydas Anušauskas at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Lithuania.

During the meeting the parties noted the high level of cooperation between the defense ministries of Ukraine and Lithuania and the readiness of the new Lithuanian Government to continue active cooperation with Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Ukraine V. Yatsenkivskyi expressed gratitude to Lithuania for the constant support of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, for invariability of its unflinching position to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. The importance of Lithuania's advisory assistance in reforming Ukraine's Armed Forces in line with the NATO standards was particularly emphasized.

The parties discussed the security situation in the region and the importance of developing bilateral cooperation in the new circumstances caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Lithuanian side also stressed that the program of rehabilitation of wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania will be continued after normalization of epidemiological situation.
