Today, on September 26, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania, Petro Beshta, held a meeting with Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Laurynas Kasčiūnas to discuss Lithuania's continued military support for Ukraine.
Among the key topics of the meeting was the investments in weapons production at Ukrainian enterprises, with the subsequent transfer of Ukrainian-made arms to our defenders.
Ukraine and Lithuania are already working together on Lithuania’s purchase of Ukrainian weapons for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Petro Beshta thanked Lithuania for its initiative to finance Ukraine's long-range capabilities, particularly the "Palyanytsia" drone missile, with an allocation of €10 million. "This is significant assistance that will greatly strengthen our ability to resist the aggressor and defend our country," the Ambassador noted.
The Ambassador of Ukraine also expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its readiness to allocate 0.25% of its national GDP exclusively for Ukraine's defense and security needs, as outlined in the bilateral security agreement.
Additionally, the meeting discussed Lithuania's participation in the International Forum of Defense Industries, which will take place in Ukraine this October. "I am confident that Ukraine's experience in developing its defense industry and Lithuania's vision for further cooperation will be beneficial to both sides," Petro Beshta emphasized.
