August 23 is the National Flag Day of Ukraine! 

On this occasion, a solemn ceremony of hoisting the Ukrainian flag was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania.

Our flag is a special symbol of freedom. It is a flag of courage, dignity and bravery. The blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag are a symbol that protects the Ukrainian nation and unites the Ukrainian people in the fight for our independence. 

We believe that soon the State Flag of Ukraine will rise freely in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in all temporarily occupied cities and villages of Ukraine. From east to west, in the mountains, at sea, on land and in the air.

During the ceremony, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta noted: "We are grateful to all Lithuanians for their solidarity and unity, for the fact that Ukrainian flags wave together with Lithuanian flags on almost every house and street in our friendly Lithuania. Our peoples have always been together, and we have also raised the Ukrainian battle flag together, brought from the city of Bakhmut, where our defenders are fighting heroic battles for the freedom of Ukraine and the freedom of the entire democratic world."
