On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta together with the Vice-Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Paulius Saudargas opened an art exhibition of Lithuanian-Ukrainian artist Beata Kurkul "I am alive" in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. 

Since the first day of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian and foreign representatives of the cultural front have been showing the true barbaric face of Russia and its soldiers to the whole world, conveying the deep emotion of the Ukrainian people's fight for their freedom and showing their incredible strength of spirit, resilience and confidence in the face of the russian invasion. They help to unite Europe and the whole world, convincing the international community of our ability to win and explain what we are fighting for.

The exhibition features 16 paintings - vivid and emotional, emphasizing the invincibility of the Ukrainian people and the main task of Ukraine and the world - to defeat the terrorist state and establish a lasting peace in Ukraine and Europe.

The event also featured a screening of the documentary movie "On the Other Side of Peace", which documents russian war crimes committed during the occupation of Bucha district of Kyiv region in 2022 and reveals the consequences that the "russian world" brought to Ukrainian land. The movie was created by the team of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine based on footage taken in the Bucha district of Kyiv region from the very beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. 

We thank everyone for organizing this meaningful event, which symbolically took place on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and on the 34th anniversary of the unique peaceful demonstration - the Baltic Way.
