The Ukrainian Center in Vilnius hosted a discussion on the importance of the Ukrainian community in the global context and the importance of an active community for any state.  

The discussion is a part of the activities of the Youth Think Tank, established at the Ukrainian Center as an open platform for meetings of Ukrainian and Lithuanian youth with politicians, diplomats and public figures from Lithuania and Ukraine.  

The First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta, Rector of Mariupol State University Mykola Trofymenko, Institutional Coordinator of the Transform4Europe Alliance of Vytautas the Great University Ineta Dabašinskienė, and representative of the Ukrainian community in Lithuania Hanna Dovbakh shared their views during the discussion. The event was moderated by Lithuanian political scientist Alvydas Medalinskas. 

"I believe that a large, intellectual, creative and active Ukrainian community is a prerequisite for Ukraine's success. I invite all Ukrainians who gather and communicate at the Ukrainian Center, receive assistance and study here, to actively contribute with their ideas, enthusiasm and creative power to overcome the current challenges facing Ukraine. After all, our joint efforts are necessary for the victory and prosperity of Ukraine," said Ms. Nausėdienė. 

Answering the questions of the discussion, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania emphasized: "We must act as one, as one big network. And in order to be strong, we must be effective in everything we do, how we work in Ukraine, how we work abroad, how we maintain this connection, how we remember our deepest goals - those that we must achieve together." 

In his turn, Mr. Trofymenko emphasized to the youth: "You are the greatest treasure of the state. While you are here, you will learn a lot, master languages, gain experience and become the best specialists to return home and develop our free European Ukraine."
