Press conference dedicated to the launch of the international initiative of the Biosphere Corporation "Support Ukrainians" in the Baltic states was held in Vilnius with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Lithuania.
The goal of the project is to support Ukrainian businesses, as well as the social and economic stability of Ukraine in these difficult times. The initiative provides for the deduction of 5 cents from each unit of goods sold to the fund of ‘UNICEF Ukraine’ to help Ukrainian children affected by the actions of the Russian invaders.
The International Campaign "Support Ukrainians" is an initiative of the Biosphere Corporation, the largest manufacturer and distributor of household goods and hygiene products in Ukraine, with the participation of leading European retailers.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta at the conference drew attention to the fact that even in these difficult times, Ukrainian business is expanding its activities all over the world, including Lithuania and the Baltic region: "The Republic of Lithuania has been the main strategic trade and economic partner of Ukraine for many years, and despite the difficult situation in Ukraine, the businesses of both countries demonstrate an interest in further development of cooperation and readiness to jointly overcome the difficulties that arose due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I would like to note that following the results of the last peaceful year 2021, bilateral trade between our countries increased by more than 50% and reached a record figure for the entire history of cooperation – more than 2 billion US dollars. The war has made significant adjustments to the prospects for our economic relations. But this does not mean that cooperation will weaken, on the contrary, we expect a significant intensification of bilateral trade".
Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta invited other Ukrainian entrepreneurs to join this initiative because Ukrainian children now really need huge support. The donated funds will be used to support schools and kindergartens, and improve life in shelters that lack basic things.
