Ukraine is preparing for the first Global Peace Summit. The goal of the Summit is to form a strong common position aimed at achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine. After the Summit, all of our partners from democratic countries will continue to develop particular roadmaps, for example, Lithuania has chosen three topics: energy security, accountability, and the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

On the 75th anniversary of NATO, we believe that it cannot be just another NATO summit. The security situation for Europe and the transatlantic community is very challenging. We believe that this is the right moment for NATO to take more decisive steps, to think more strategically. 

There is no strong position from our partners on the strategy to end this war. So far, there are different formulas, one of which is 'as long as it lasts, we cannot let Ukraine lose and Russia win'. However, our strategy is very clear: our partners must support Ukraine as much as possible to achieve victory as soon as possible.

There are now around 500 private defense companies in Ukraine. We are developing a very dynamic defense industry with very advanced technologies and world leaders in arms production. In Lithuania, we been working with defense companies to increase cooperation, and we believe that there will be results already this year, because there is a lot of interest from Lithuanian companies.

It is important to continue humanitarian aid to Ukraine again. In the last month, there have been around 200 000 displaced persons in the Kharkiv region.
