On December 17, Kaunas City Council unanimously adopted a resolution “On Supporting the Victory Plan for Ukraine”!

The resolution strongly condemns the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, ongoing since 2014, and reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. It also emphasizes the readiness of Kaunas to continue to provide political, moral and financial support to Ukraine to restore infrastructure, strengthen economic sustainability and the well-being of Ukrainian citizens. 

Particular attention is paid to intensifying international cooperation, which includes direct support for Ukrainian twin cities and the exchange of best practices in education, healthcare, and infrastructure reconstruction.

The resolution also calls on Lithuanian municipalities to actively support the implementation of the Victory Plan of Ukraine and to contribute to the restoration of Ukraine through practical assistance and partnership cooperation.

Mayor of Kaunas City Visvaldas Matijošaitis emphasized that the adopted resolution is a continuation of the consistent support for Ukraine: “This resolution is a symbol of Kaunas' solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Supporting Ukraine remains one of the top priorities of our city.”
