On December 13, a meeting took place at the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania between the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania, Petro Beshta, and the newly appointed Minister of National Defence of Lithuania, Ms. Dovilė Šakalienė.
During the meeting, Ambassador Beshta expressed his profound gratitude for the comprehensive support that Lithuania consistently provides to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. He also provided the Minister with a detailed overview of the priority needs of Ukraine’s Defence Forces, essential for strengthening the country’s defensive capabilities.
Ms. Dovilė Šakalienė assured that Lithuania’s support for Ukraine by the Ministry of National Defence, will not only continue but will also be further enhanced. The Minister also noted that Lithuania will further invest in Ukraine's defence enterprises and establish joint production of defence products. The Minister highlighted that Lithuania will persist in investing in Ukraine’s defence industry and fostering joint production of defence equipment.
Moreover, Ms. Dovilė Šakalienė underlined that Lithuania will continue the rehabilitation of wounded representatives of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
