Lithuania is constantly working on new ways to help Ukraine! The Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta met with the Vice-Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania Mindaugas Liutvinskas to discuss Lithuania's continued support for Ukraine in the fight against the ongoing Russian aggression.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to two important decisions taken by the Lithuanian Government.
First of all, it is the allocation of EUR 13 million to the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund, which will be used to finance Ukraine's recovery projects.
The Lithuanian Government also approved a roadmap for Lithuania's participation in the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine for the next three years, which identifies key areas of cooperation, including Ukraine's European integration, development of a sustainable economy, support for education, energy and transport, as well as humanitarian demining and rehabilitation of military personnel.
The parties also discussed the issue of financial support from the European Union. Lithuania is advocating for speeding up the decision-making process to provide Ukraine with additional funding at the expense of frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, Ambassador of Ukraine Petro Beshta noted the crucial importance of this significant assistance and stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates the diverse support of the brotherly Lithuanian people. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Lithuania has been one of Ukraine's most loyal partners, providing military, financial and humanitarian support, which is a testament to the unwavering solidarity of the Republic of Lithuania with the Ukrainian people.
