On February 23, "Mes kartu - We are Together" event was held at the Ukrainian Center in Vilnius, dedicated to the year of indomitability and unity in the fight to forgive the aggressor.

The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, in a video address to the visitors of the Ukrainian Center noted: ‘Today, we are not celebrating the year of war here - we are celebrating the year of resistance to aggression, the year of courage, the year of mutual aid and saving each other, the year of humanity and the year of friendship. Your invaluable friendship, dear Lithuanian friends.’

The guests of honor at the event were the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and the First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė.

‘During this year of trials, which fell to the lot of Ukraine, new friendly ties appeared, and the old ones strengthened even more. I am happy and proud that Lithuania and Ukraine share an extremely strong and time-tested friendship. We have always been close, but what we are going through today is sincere, deep, and real,’ said the First Lady of Lithuania. Mrs. Diana Nausėdienė added that the Ukrainian Center, initiated and created together with the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, is a manifestation of a comprehensive desire to help Ukrainians who have found refuge in Lithuania.

Speaking at the event, Ukrainian Ambassador to Lithuania Petro Beshta thanked the Lithuanian people for their invaluable help, loyalty, and solidarity, stressing: ‘We know - we have no other options than to win. And we are sure that our children will become a generation of victory, not a generation of war.’

The Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska, who was in Lithuania on a working visit, also joined the event.

Many thanks to the head of the Ukrainian Center Algirdas Kumža, the team and volunteers of the center, as well as the Academy of Education of the Vytautas the Great University for holding this emotional event, which once again demonstrated "Mes kartu - We are Together"!
