On December 8th, 2021 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi met the Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Viktoria Čmilytė-Nilsen.
During the meeting that followed the working visit to the Republic of Poland paid by the Speaker of the Seimas in order to participate in the 11th Session of the Assembly of Members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland (December 05-06, Warsaw), a wide range of bilateral issue was discussed with a particular focus on the dynamic interparliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and Lithuania.
A number of topical issues of the regional and global agendas was also discussed, in particular in the context of ongoing external aggression against Ukraine. The Both Sides stressed on the importance of further strengthening of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania that plays a significant role in fulfilling Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations aimed at obtaining the clear European perspective as well as the NATO Membership Action Plan.
Ukraine’s Ambassador Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi expressed gratitude to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuanian and the Speaker Viktoria Čmilytė-Nilsen personally for the strong and consistent support of Ukraine in all the topical issues, in particular in the context of launching the parliamentary dimension of the Crimea Platform.
