From February 23 to 26, the 23rd International Vilnius Book Fair will be held in Lithuania, where Ukraine will be represented by its national stand.
The Ukrainian book stand at the Vilnius Book Fair became a place of strength for the citizens of Ukraine and a real inspiration for numerous Lithuanian and foreign guests of the stand, among whom were the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and the First Lady Diana Nausėdienė, the Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, the Minister of Culture of Lithuania Simonas Kairys and Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius.
‘It is extremely gratifying that the powerful voice of Ukrainian literature sounded so brightly in Lithuania, and I am sure it was heard even far beyond its borders. Ukrainian writers, writers, publishers, and organizers with their painstaking work skillfully embodied the slogan of this year's Ukrainian stand - "Persistence of existence" despite the Russian aggressor's efforts to destroy Ukrainian identity and culture,’ noted Ukrainian Ambassador to Lithuania Petro Beshta.
We are sincerely grateful to the Ukrainian Book Institute, the Book Arsenal, Ukrainian authors, illustrators, public figures, and publishers who joined forces to create a unique Ukrainian program.
We thank the Lithuanian Association of Publishers, the Lithuanian Institute of Culture, and the Lithuanian Exhibition Center LitExpo for the comprehensive support of the Ukrainian participants of the Vilnius Book Fair.
Today, together with Lithuanians, Ukrainians are writing a new page of common history, inspired by a common love for freedom. A chapter about real heroes, friendship, compassion, and unprecedented unity. There is no doubt that this chapter will be the greatest chapter of Victory. Our common Victory.
