On May 24, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Petro Beshta visited the International Ukrainian School in Kaunas.
The students of the school prepared a rich program of performances and were impressed with the exhibition of Ukrainian symbols, products, and handicrafts created on the occasion of the Day of Heroes of Ukraine in Lithuania. The school staff also presented the Embassy of Ukraine in Lithuania with a special gift - a painting created with the soul and with their own hands.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania talked to the school principal Marius Regalovskis, the school administration, teachers, and students, and discussed further plans and needs of the school.
The main idea of the International Ukrainian School is to create opportunities for Ukrainian children who have fled their homes due to the war in Ukraine to continue their education in Lithuania.
Currently, more than 500 students attend the IUS branch in Kaunas, and the school employs teachers from Ukraine.
