On February 11, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania, Olha Nikitchenko, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda.
During a separate meeting, the Ambassador expressed deep gratitude to the Head of the Lithuanian State for his personal support of Ukraine and Ukrainians, Lithuania’s comprehensive and timely assistance, and its resolute pro-Ukrainian stance on the international stage.
"Thank you for having Ukraine in your heart," said Olha Nikitchenko. The Ambassador expressed confidence that the joint efforts of Ukraine and Lithuania will ensure a just and lasting peace, security for both states, and prosperity for our brotherly nations.
Further deepening of the strategic partnership and the systematic implementation of the Security Cooperation Agreement remain priorities for both Ukraine and Lithuania.
President Gitanas Nausėda, in particular, emphasized that Lithuania will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, long-term support to strengthen its resilience and reconstruction, and will contribute to the development of Ukraine’s defense industry, economic recovery, and humanitarian projects.
Both sides share the view that Ukraine’s victory is crucial for both regional and global security. In this regard, Ukraine appreciates Lithuania’s calls, including those by the Head of the Lithuanian State, for allies and partners to remain firm in their commitments to Ukraine.
Olha Nikitchenko expressed her gratitude to President Gitanas Nausėda for his significant personal support of the Peace Formula, Ukraine’s Victory Plan, the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Another key focus of discussion was the activities of the Ukrainian Center, which has been operating in Lithuania for the third year thanks to the joint initiative of the First Ladies of Ukraine and Lithuania, Olena Zelenska and Diana Nausėdienė. President Nausėda expressed satisfaction with the Center’s meaningful work in strengthening ties between the two nations, promoting Ukrainian culture, and supporting educational and humanitarian initiatives in Lithuania.
