On February 24, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania, Olha Nikitchenko, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Gintautas Paluckas. She expressed her sincere gratitude to Lithuania and its people for their unwavering support, comprehensive assistance, and active international advocacy for Ukraine’s interests.
Emphasizing the indivisibility of international security, Olha Nikitchenko underscored the need for European and transatlantic unity. Ukraine is doing everything possible to achieve a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace this year and must be, together with the United States and Europe, at the table of future negotiations for precisely such a peace.
"Peace must be achieved only through strength – directed at the aggressor. Ukraine needs reliable and effective security guarantees, and NATO membership is the most powerful of them," Olha Nikitchenko stressed, reaffirming the irreversibility of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Prime Minister of Lithuania reaffirmed Lithuania’s steadfast support for Ukraine from both its institutions and society. Since 2014, Lithuania has stood by Ukraine in its struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity — and will remain a reliable ally in the future. "Lithuania will always be a country that the Ukrainian people can firmly count on," assured Gintautas Paluckas.
The security of Ukraine and Europe is indivisible, and a just and lasting peace is a shared goal of Ukraine and Lithuania, both sides emphasized.

They also discussed further contacts in continuation of the intergovernmental consultations held during the visit of the Lithuanian Government, led by Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, to Ukraine on December 20, 2024.
