On the occasion of the second year since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania hosted a forum "Your Victory is Our Victory", which was opened by the Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament Ms. Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen and Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Petro Beshta.
"I am extremely grateful to my Lithuanian colleagues for the theme of the forum - "Your victory is our victory". It is about our common goal - to gain and defend freedom, about our common struggle, about our readiness to make extraordinary efforts to be free," - Petro Beshta emphasized.
During the event, the participants exchanged views on the current challenges on the global agenda in connection with the hostilities in Ukraine, the importance of Ukraine receiving timely and necessary assistance for victory, as victory should be considered by all as the only indispensable prerequisite for the restoration of justice, the rule of law and human rights, and the non-repetition - anywhere, ever, by anyone - of the horrors, misfortunes and crimes brought to Ukraine by the russian aggressor.
The event included the opening of two exhibitions, thanks to the Vice Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania, Mr. Paulius Saudargas:
- Photo exhibition "Sculpture Series" by Ukrainian photographer Marta Syrko from Lviv - tearful images that show the world the price our defenders pay to protect the entire civilized world.
- The exhibition "The Color of Steel", which demonstrates the art of Ukrainian children and young people in the harsh realities of war. The subjects of their works are not the usual attributes, but fragments of weapons.
The guests of the events also watched a documentary from “CulturevsWar” series dedicated to Ukrainian musicians from “Antytila” band, who left their normal lives to defend Ukraine.
We thank our partners for everything that has been done and will be done for our common victory.
Glory to Ukraine!
