As part of the state visit of the Danish Royal Couple to Lithuania, Queen Mary of Denmark visited the Ukrainian heart of Lithuania – the Ukrainian Center – at the invitation of the First Lady of Lithuania, Diana Nausėdienė. The visit became an important expression of solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Her Majesty was welcomed by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania, Olga Nikitchenko, the Rector of Vytautas Magnus University, Ineta Dabašinskienė, the Head of the Ukrainian Center, Erika Vaiginienė, as well as the Center’s coordinators and volunteers.

During the visit, the distinguished guests were introduced to the activities of the Ukrainian Center, established at the initiative and under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and the First Lady of Lithuania, Diana Nausėdienė, and to its mission of supporting, uniting, and strengthening the Ukrainian community.

The guests had the opportunity to observe creative and therapeutic activities for children held at the Center, including elements of art and fairy-tale therapy using polymer clay, as well as LEGO workshops aimed at developing emotional resilience, communication, and teamwork.

The exhibition “Lost Childhood” was also presented, highlighting one of the most painful realities of the war – the deportation of Ukrainian children. The project is part of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative.

Welcoming Queen Mary to the Ukrainian Center, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania expressed sincere gratitude to Her Majesty for this meaningful visit and special attention to Ukrainian families, and once again thanked the First Lady of Lithuania, Diana Nausėdienė, for her unwavering support, compassion, and genuine care for Ukrainian citizens in Lithuania.
